Peritonitis and pneumoperitoneum due to emphysematous cholecystitis: a case report

Emphysematous cholecystitis most often occurs in older men and Emphysematous cholecystitis often occurs in patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes and vascular disease. The combination of emphysematous cholecystitis and pneumoperitoneum is even rarer. In this study, w...
متن کاملAssociation between bacteremia due to Streptococcus gallolyticus subsp. gallolyticus (Streptococcus bovis I) and colorectal neoplasia: a case-control study.
BACKGROUND The association between bacteremia by Streptococcus gallolyticus subsp. gallolyticus (SGG) and colorectal neoplasia (CRN) is well established but the frequency of the association varies widely in different studies. We conducted a case-control study to assess the association between SGG bacteremia and CRN. METHODS An analysis of all SGG bacteremias was performed during the period 19...

متن کاملSpontaneous Bacterial Peritonitis due to Ochrobactrum anthropi: A Case Report
We report a case of spontaneous bacterial peritonitis from Ochrobactrum anthropi. O. anthropi is recognized as an emerging pathogen in immunocompromised patients. In contrast to most previously described cases, the patient reported here had no indwelling catheter. To our knowledge, no case of O. anthropi spontaneous bacterial peritonitis has been reported in the medical literature until now.
متن کاملA longitudinal case series description of meningitis due to Streptococcus gallolyticus subsp. pasteurianus in infants.
Streptococcus gallolyticus subsp. pasteurianus, previously known as Streptococcus bovis biotype II.2, is known to cause multiple infectious complications, including bacterial meningitis, in adults. Only sporadic individual case reports have identified this pathogen as a cause of meningitis in infants.
